Phil, Nikki & The Team welcome you to the Multi-Award Winning Bell in Studham 'Best Pub in Bedfordshire' in the National Pub & Bar Awards & Best Pub in the SME Beds Business awards 2018 and enjoyed Silver Nationally in 2019...& more recently finalists in the 2022 National SME Awards!
A grade II listed building, that is over 500 years old and is situated in idyllic countryside in Bedfordshire. As soon as you walk into The Bell you'll feel a sense of warmth as the original 500 year old character of a 'proper pub' wraps itself around you, welcomes you warmly with echoes of contemporary touches and lots to see and browse in the restaurant and study bar. Decorated with original features alongside colours of stone, cream, duck egg blue and contrasting twinkly ceiling lights, books, logs, beams, wooden floors, brick and inglenook fireplace finishes.
We offer freshly prepared dishes, and a selection of beverages, wines and real ales from local breweries down the road. We take pride in hearty homemade dishes with English classics like 'Fish & triple cooked Chips' with lashings of vinegar to eat in or as your LOCAL CHIPPY! and our popular Traditional Sunday Roasts with crispy roast potatoes & all the Trimmings. Phil's 'Home-made Pies'are hugely popular...made with Love...Alongside the main menu we have 'Chef Phil's' 'Specials, these change weekly with a fabulous selection of fresh fish & Italian Dishes....

A bit about us... We arrived in 2004 and acquired the freehold in 2009. Phil has been a landlord for over 40 years in restaurants and pubs around England and Nikki comes from a design and business background and has been in the trade for over 25 years. Our Pub Dog 'Jazz' will always enjoy a bit of attention & share her doggy treats with other 4 legged friends who are welcome in the 'Study Bar' and have their own 'Bell & Hound Menu'!...
Before Phil was a licensee, he was a butcher so always insists upon offering quality cuts of steaks. We have 'Chef Phil' ( I know another Phil..it gets confusing!...who is passionate about food & fresh dishes and specialises in Italian....And of course our friendly team that look to welcome you on every visit offering an informal warm welcome & were finalists in 2019 & 2022 for service excellence in the SME Beds Business Awards. Please ask our team how we can help, if you have any allergies or would like a gluten free dish our team & chef will be happy to advise. We cook 98% of dishes from scratch as we don't believe in packets, so it may take a little longer but it will be how you would like it.
